AMARILLO ROSE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I won't let you close enough to hurt me. No one wants to die alone. No one wants to feel the pressure of having to support themselves 24/7. Having no one to talk to, no one to support you, no one to lean your head on. She should get used to this though, right? Being alone, that is. This scar made her look weak, which couldn't help but say that she was. She knew this wouldn't go away; her scar. It reminded her constantly of what happened. Her past. Every time she looked at it, a flooding of memories crept into her mind. She didn't mind being alone. She didn't mind being ugly. She had actually gotten used to the fact that once others seen her right side, they automatically switched their opinions of her. No, she hated being asked about it. She had never met someone who wasn't curious enough to ask how she had gotten it, where, when, from who etc. She didn't think she ever would. She considers herself a loner now, and part of her didn't think she would find a place that would take her in, not matter how bad she wanted it. She always thought she was a nice mare, always getting along with others, having no trouble talking. She hated herself for her inability to trust though. That's the only issue that stopped her from opening up and sharing herself with others. She was a mystery. She didn't know how to break down the wall anymore, and she's never met someone who could. So she laid in that small cave, aware with the fact that this would never be her permanent home. |
No, I won't ask you, you to just desert me.

It was strange - the reasons that she chose to take one path instead of another. It was stranger when she had no reason to even be traveling in these open lands. She knew that she would have no trouble in finding some sort of home, whether it be some sort of group or a real herd - after all, a place to stay is better than no place at all.
The bay mare quickly quickened her pace. She had just arrived in this part of the lands. It wasn't much - all it had was clumps of ice, water and sand for what it seemed like miles. Ebonique felt the need to kick each leg with each step to get rid of the wet clumps of sand and ice that built up in her hoofs. She knew it wasn't uncommon for wind to blow near water but in the dead of winter, each breeze that hit her body felt like daggers.
Looking up at the sky, Ebonique could see that the sun was getting ready to set. Bringing her head to see the wet mush that made a squished sound every time she stepped, she quickly decided to find somewhere to rest for the night. She had never been one to just doze off in the middle of nowhere. The mare always stopped her travels early just to find a place to sleep when the sun was gone.
In the distance, the mare saw a shape of a cave and a smile came to her face. Perhaps, it wouldn't take very long to find a place to stay. Slowing down her gait to only a relaxed walk, it took a while to get to the huge hollowed out rock. Peering in, she shivered just as another blast of cold air hit her. Taking a step in, Ebonique let out a gasp in suprise of what was laying there. Upon a quick inspection, the creature in the cave was no more than a mare. "Umm... Hello?"

Enough of this. You're too weak. The cold, cold ground sent shivers up her spine, making her whole body shake violently. The cold air stung her nostril's and the ground made it hard for her lung's to supply enough oxygen. She couldn't didn't want to get up. No matter where she went, she was always going to be alone. Maybe not alone in the physical aspect, but in the mental aspect. Am I going crazy? Seeing things was one thing, but hearing other voices other than her own was another. No, this was real. She was sure she wasn't crazy. She could hear it now, clearly. Forcing her mind to clear, she looked up from her position on the ground to see a blurry figure. She squinted, but her eyes could not yet form the figure of another horse. Realizing that this could be some sort of an attack, she stood up quickly from the hard ground, blood rushing back into her legs as her body shook from the cold. Who are you and why are you here? It surprised herself, the way she said those words. So harsh, so mean. It disturbed her in a way. This was not who she was. But then again, she did not know if she was being threatened or not. |

Taking a few more steps into the cave, towards the mare that appeared to be harmless, she was attacked by the air housed in the hollow rock. It was colder than outside, where only the wind blew. Inside, the wind blew its cold air and the rock kept the freezing cold trapped inside. Nevertheless, she kept walking towards the grulla mare.
Though as the cold remark escaped the mare, Eboniqe stopped walking and stared at the horse. "It's cold outside. I was just searching for a place to stay for the night." A worried look came across the bay mare's face. Would she have to spend the night with the mare and be forced to talk with her? Ebonique had never been the talking type to mares, when it came to stallions, she could mutter out a sentence or two. "My name is Ebonique. What would your name be?"
Another blast of wind hit her. She shivered, once again. It didn't seem like a nice place to stay. But the mare would rather sleep in a freezing cave than out in open land, where predators could be lurking, just waiting to attack.

[bg=White][atrb=width,397,true][atrb=border,1] Once the mare had heard this stranger speak, she started to settle down. Realizing she was in the same predicament as she was, her alert went down, and her voice lost it's harsh state. Oh. Well, I guess you could stay here too, if you wanted. Realizing she just offered this stranger to stay in the cave with her, she surprised herself. There was something about this mare though. She had an aura about her that seemed safe and secure, like Rose wasn't in any danger. She laid back down on the cold ground and breathed a sigh of relief. I'm Amarillo Rose, but you can just call me Rose. Word Count; -110- Lyrics; -xxx Notes; -Sorry it's so short. I'm lazy today. :p- |

The bay mare simply nodded at the horse, laying on the ground, as she introduced herself and Ebonique continued walking inside the cold cave. As the mare laid on one side of the freezing, hollow rock, Ebonique laid on the other. If she though just standing at the entrance was cold, laying down on the rock floor was worse. The ground seemed to have sucked most of the chill in the air and kept it. As the mare shivered, she looked over at the mare next to her and wondered how long she had been laying here in the icy cave. "How long have you been here? It's freezing, not the best place to spend more than a few hours at."
