He walked up the steep rocks. Even though Rían prided himself with his athletic skills, walking up the cliffs would make anyone want to break down. He listened to the loud sound of his heavy hoofs as they carried his body across the rocks until he reached the top. Pulling himself up, he let out a loud sigh of relief. It was high, away from all the crowded lands underneath, the silence somewhat comforting. It didn't seem like he had to fight to claim the title that was rightfully his - the leader, king of these lands.
He began exploring his new place, it was so unlike the open lands which were full of life - rabbits, squirrels and plants. But still, it was warmer than expected, still freezing but bearable for the altitude that he was in. Stopping for a second and looking back at the path he had taken to get up the cliff, he knew that he wouldn't want to go back down anytime soon. Looking forward, he continued his walk, looking for a source of water and grass. After all, to have a successful herd, those necessities were vital.
He had learned all that he thought was needed to lead a herd from watching his father when he was young and still traveling with his dam and sire. When he wasn't out wandering around the open lands, he was watching his father direct each of the members in the group. Then why did he actually feel somewhat nervous about starting a group of his own. Nervousness was a feeling that Rían seldom felt. He should feel proud, excited that he would be the king of the lands.
Rían shook the nervousness off of himself. He had all he needed to become a great leader. The roan stallion would become one that would make some cower in fear and others look in admiration whenever they would cross paths.
