Raven whinnied and stomped into the ground. Why was she still all alone, no one had happened to have wandered into her lands, or seen her anywhere else. Was she that big of a reject? No, of course she wasn't. She was just too hard to approach because of her proud aura. No, Raven was just a sleek mare with a cold heart and b*tchy attitude. She was a larger black friesian that just wanted to manage a herd on her own.
Raven started cantering. As she continued to canter she looked ahead grimly. The canter reminded her of a spring as she coiled up then sprung out, and repeated the motion. The strides were harsh to the ground, throwing up clods of earth and dirt. She still couldn't believe how no one had shown up at her lands. Maybe no one was dark enough to come up to her?

Ever since the stallion had arrived at his herd lands, he had not left, until now. He knew that he had to leave sometime -- to gather mares, to fight away any theives with an eye on his land. The king's land. He had little knowlegde of where he was headed. He knew little of the lands that were outside of his herd lands, which he had combed through day after day, and the open lands, which he had lived in for almost half his life.
The trip down was harder than when Rian had went up. He was in constant fear of tripping and just tumbling down the blunt rocks. After all the work taken to get down, he wasn't going to waste his energy. On the way down, he promised himself that he would bring back at least one mare.
It wasn't long before he found himself in someone elses land. The scent of horses was dim in the air, as though there were not many horses inhabiting the herd. Every few minutes, the stallion would stick his white nose into the air, in search of some sort of scent from a mare. Before long, Rian had picked it up and without another thought, was following it.
It was only a few minutes walk before the stallion sighted the mare. She was fully black. Tall for a mare though he was still taller. "Hey! You there! He hoped that would be enough to capture the black mare's attention.
